I just came back from a week of hiking in the Canadian Rockies, one of my favorite areas on Earth. Everywhere you look, you see scenes like this:
In the cities, there are darling buildings like this:
In the country, there are crazy-beautiful mountain meadows like this:
I was in love with the flora, like these Puffball Mushrooms:
And these lovely Asters (or were they Feverfew?):
The food was fantastic--and some of it was right off the side of the trail! These wild strawberries were ridiculously, intensely flavored. One tiny berry explodes in the mouth:
Tomorrow, I'll show you some more of the food we enjoyed. 'Til then, here's another of my favorite plants, called Vetch, or sometimes Fire Weed:
